Jessica Sweetman
Fifteen years old, singing in cigar bars — that is where the voice was made. A BMG deal took her to the States. She has opened for Van Morrison, Hozier and Keane, toured with Paul Oakenfold, and goes out with Alfie Boe this autumn — the Royal Albert Hall among the rooms.
Christy O’Donnell
A Scot, back after a few years away — and back signed to Elton John’s Rocket. There is a new album coming, and a film, 88Keys, in which he takes the lead. October catches him mid-turn.
One World Orchestra
Musicians from across the world, playing as one — global traditions against contemporary songwriting, much of it made in the moment. Away from the stage they work with thousands of people across the UK, using music to close the distance between them. In a room of fifty-five, there is not much left to close.
